Chef Robin's Northern Thai
Sat, July 11 - dinner
Sun, July 12 - lunch or dinner
From Chef Robin's cooking study in Northern Thailand, she's picked her favourite dishes to make for you. This menu is a Thai mash up with ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. Lanna cuisine is from the North of Thailand and is rarely on offer in Vancouver, so this should be fun. Dishes like Khao soi, Northern
Thai coconut curry with deep fried egg noodles, wing bean, pickled onion, lime and her favourite fermented tea leaf salad with peanut, fried split peas, tomato, chilis, garlic and sesame called Lahpet Thoke from Myanmar.
A Spanish Picnic - To Go
Sun, July 12 - lunch or dinner
Chef Heather Dosman creates a collection of summer Spanish tapas for our Swallow Tail takeaway pop-up. Pre-order, pick up your tapas, pop across the street to Container brewing for a beer and they'll let you eat it on their new patio or head off to the park with a Spanish picnic for lunch or dinner ready to eat. Dishes like amontillado, porcini mushroom pate, strawberry Andalusian gazpacho with crema & lemon balm. Sablefish escabeche. What is
escabeche? It's like a grilled ceviche with saffron.
Vegetarian option available. Check out the set menu
Lori Snyder taught me how to make a digestive bitters with red clover, rose petals and dandelion root when I was filming her edible & medicinal plant virtual foraging tour recently. It's used to balance your hormones which are all out of whack for me lately, I'm up, I'm down, shesh. So, I fell in love with red clover, it has a distinctive pea tip type flavour and added to my usual spring harvest of
pineapple weed (chamomile relative) it makes a gorgous herbal tea.
Medicinal & Edible Foraging with herbalist Lori Snyder
Our online video series featuring two hours with aboriginal herbalist, Lori Snyder, in her garden covering edible medicinal plants both native and invasive. She teaches us that food is our medicine, how to listen and get to know the plants that surround us. Learn how to identify, care for and prepare these powerful plants into simple medicines like edible
tinctures, teas and balms. She'll cover which parts of each plant to use for healing and which to leave for the bees.
SEA FORAGING TOUR
