As covid continues to keep us isolated, I highly recommend when it gets wet and dark this fall that you get out there in the rain to hunt for some mushrooms for a spirit lifting boost. Mushrooms are starting to pop up early this year due to our weird 2020 weather. Here's a quick report on the start of mushroom foraging season this year so far:
Chanterelles, matsutake(pine mushrooms) and lobster mushrooms are poking their heads out of the earth at the higher elevations north of us and as the weather gets wetter and cooler the spread will move south towards Vancouver. So get ready! Porcini will
start popping up in higher elevations in a few weeks hopefully. I'll report back with any new finds as I'm going mushroom hunting in the Okanagan this week.
