Hi ,
The wild blueberries, thimbleberries and black huckleberries are ridiculously tasty this year because of all the dry late season sun. All are ready for the picking right now and free:) Check the video below to help boost your identification confidence for the blue/black berries. For thimbleberries, my favourite, there are a ton up by the Coquihalla summit, ripe, red and ready. Mind blowing sweet
and a lot like a super intense raspberry, they make the best jam ever. So, get outside while the sun is still with us this weekend.
For mushroom foraging, I found chicken of the woods, porcini, Boletus smithii (a local yellow/red version of porcini) and even some funnel chanterelles popping up now. Our Sept tours are sold out, but October still has some spots open and I'm working on an online mushroom foraging course to be
released in October, stay tuned.
