Hi ,
We just released our online mushroom foraging course, yay. I've been putting together videos of my mushroom foraging travels this fall for a few months now covering matsutake, lobster, chanterelle, shrimp mushroom, comb tooth and 20+ more edible and poisonous Pacific Northwest fungi. If you sign up before Oct 25, everyone gets $5 off the program. To learn how to safely forage for
your own chanterelles from the comfort of your own home, check out our online course. There's a teaser video below to give you a taste of the chanterelle video section.

But most importantly, please watch the video below on how to identify toxic Death Cap mushrooms for community safety. The mushrooms in the video were coming up in the commercial drive area last week.
Death caps are the statuesque urban mushrooms with a large cup like base that you see pictured here. You'll find them coming up in grassy spots around the lower mainland. It is safe to respectfully handle these mushrooms as long as you wash your hands with soap and water (not sanitizer) or wear gloves. And if you wish, dispose of them in the garbage (not the garden compost) if you are
concerned about pets or kids around them. Remember to 100% identify them first as many mushrooms are very beneficial to trees and local animals, so don't disturb fungi if you don't have to.
