How to Dig for different clams (Talk & Demo) Clam ID, Tools, Safety, then it's time to dig some clams!
2-4pm COOKING WITH CLAMS WITH CHEF
ROBIN
Learn how to cook clams with tastings - Cooking demonstrations with featuring local chefs. Learn how to make dishes with different techniques from sashimi to smoking seafood.
- Blind Clam Tasting of all the different clams (butter, cockle, horse, manila) lightly poached, compare and contrast their texture and flavour
- Talk about purging, prep, cleaning clams etc.
- Oyster tasting + other sea delicacies
4pm LET'S GET COOKING
It's fire-pit time
where guests can cook their catch, our chefs will man the firepits.
TICKETS 100 Adults/39 Kids under 12 for the whole day event includes lots of seafood tasters throughout the day + the cooking and clamming class. NOTE: Everyone must buy their own shellfish license for the day if they plan
to dig clams themselves. Plan to stay at the Birch Bay campsite or come on home with your catch, there is no problem with bringing your live clams back across the border!
