What is the worlds most poisonous mushroom? ☠️

They are responsible for 90% of mushroom poisonings worldwide, so let's get to know a little about the notorious "Death Cap" mushroom. Remember that mushrooms, poisonous and edible alike, are part of the normal functioning of the earth, they compost our waste and many trees wouldn't survive without them. Please if you find a poisonous one, don't freak out, you can touch mushrooms like these without issue, but eating them is where they can cause severe illness. So don't eat them:)

Amanita phalloides (death cap mushroom) - It's key features are a large cup (volva) form at the base of the stem, a skirt like ring, white fine gills, and a cap that is white to olive green in colour (no warts). They grow associated with specific introduced tree species like hornbeam trees in urban areas around the lower mainland and Victoria, BC. If you are sure you have found a death cap mushroom, wrap it in a plastic bag and dispose of it in the garbage rather than in compost or green bins (so that it doesn't potentially spread to other areas).
