I love walking in the rain bundled up in warm clothes, I guess that proves that I was born on the Pacific coast:) The light patter of rain drops on leaves gives you that delicious feeling of being in a cloud of solitude as you meander through the grey, green and red colouring of fall forests made shiny by the water. Stop to examine all the
foliage and fungi that proudly thrive in the damp earth. I encourage you to get outside this fall, shake off the instinct to wallow inside and get caught up in old worries and woes. Come out with us into the forest and spark your curiosity of nature. Or just come eat with us at our underground supper club if the rain is just too much for you:) Chef Tushar Tondvalkar is collaborating with me on a wild Indian pop-up dinner Nov 23. I'll be heading out into the rain to collect wild mushrooms, fall greens (yes, it's mild enough to find lots of those still) and smoking some sea lettuce and bull kelp for him to weave into his dinner. Check out some fall events below and let's fight the darkness together!
