Eat more fish Vancouver, we live by the sea! (SAD) Seasonal affective disorder is a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons, it's known to zap your energy and make you blue.

Salmon, tuna, sardines, rainbow trout are all Vitamin D rich which will help you keep a smile on your face during the weeks of rain and grey.  And even if it doesn't work, at least your eating wonderful food that does a body good.  Chef Robin shares a simple, tasty recipe for seared tuna below.

Other options are egg yolks for Vitamin D which is a good reason to eat more creme brulee (like you needed one).
Fish oil suppliments are a boring, but easy way to get some sun in a bottle into your system.  Or the last option, try doing a sun dance.  Everyone says it's 100% effective in removing SAD from friends within viewing distance.

Method:
  • Try to buy a uniformly thick piece of tuna for more even cooking.
  • Coat tuna in paprika, lemon zest, salt, pepper and olive oil.
  • Leave overnight to marinate in fridge (you can cook right away without marinating if you must).
