Vaisakhi Festival 2017
Every April, millions of Sikhs worldwide celebrate Vaisakhi, a day that marks the Punjabi New Year. One of the largest events occurs in Surrey, where up to 300,000 people attend the annual Vaisakhi parade, making it one of the largest parades outside India.  If you don't like crowds, do not go!

As part of celebrating the harvest roots of Vaisakhi, local residents and businesses prepare and give away fabulous free food along the parade route.  I'll be out there at noon, eating like a madwoman, hope to see you there.

WILD ABOUT VANCOUVER

Wild About Vancouver (WAV) Outdoor Education Festival is a free public outdoor education festival offering practical ways to get children (and adults) outdoors more regularly. They have tons of free fun events on now till the end of April around the city for everyone.  Including a 500 square metre Nature-Play pop-up park near Stanley Park filled with hay bales, water, soil, mulch, burlap, twine, logs, and joyful kids building forts, playing hard, and getting dirty.
