Hi ,
I'm bringing back the cocktail party, they're really so much fun. Learning how to make a magical layered cocktail is an important step in throwing a great cocktail party. It requires some practice, but the rules are simple.
- Use the back of a spoon to slowly introduce the liquids to the glass
- Layer the liquids from heavy to light specific gravity - do a few tests to see which liquid you're trying to layer is heaviest. Vodka is lightest and a simple syrup(sugar) is heavy, you can add either sugar or vodka to a liquid to change it's specific gravity. I love science.
And voila, you can create some fantastical drinks for your next cocktail party.
But if you want some lessons from a pro like bartender of the year, Satoshi Yonemori, you'll have to come out to our next pop-up restaurant, ProVisions. We've opened up 30 cocktail hour only tickets for some fun on Saturday, Dec 1st. He'll be mixing cocktails inspired by contemporary art.
